Generally speaking, union jobs pay significantly more and receive better benefits than non-union jobs. 

• In 2011 average Union wages were $3.51 per hour higher than their non-union counterparts
• Union workers received $7.11 more per hour in earned benefits
• 93% of Union workers had access to retirement benefits vs. 64% of non-union
• 93% of Union workers had access to an employer provided health plan vs. 69% of non-union
