Brotherhood of Teamsters represent?
A, the Teamsters Union is one of the
most diverse Unions in existence. We represent; Truck &
Delivery Drivers, Police, City & County Employees,
Construction Workers, Para Professionals, Bus Drivers,

A, there are approximately 4,000
members.

cover?
A, Local 554’s jurisdiction consists of
175,000 square miles, the entire state of
Nebraska, the western third of
Iowa, with some members in
Kansas,
South Dakota
and Minnesota.
Q, how long have the Teamsters been
around?
A, the International Brotherhood of
Teamsters celebrated their 100th birthday in
2003.
Q, what are some of the benefits of being a member?
A, you become part of a large
organization that has the resources to successfully promote
a pro-labor agenda on the political front, thus helping to
create “labor friendly”, “pro-union” legislation. Our total
numbers equate to “political clout”, and profoundly benefit
the relationships we have with lawmakers.

Q, what is the total membership of the
International?
A, the total membership is
approximately 1.4 million.
Q, who represents me in the workplace?
A, the members are represented by a
designated “Steward”, who is their first line of defense
when a contract violation occurs, and it requires further
attention. If the Steward is unable to resolve the
grievance, a Business Agent from the Local will assist in
the attempt to reach a settlement.
